There have been a few updates at Mid-Tokyo Maps recently - the latest a series on "Developing 21st Century Cities".
The hand of the property developers behind the site - Mori Building - seems to be increasingly, subtly, revealing itself. It's almost beginning to feel like a minor-character in a William Gibson book, in which property developers seduce opinion-formers by deploying distributed software-based agents, their gleaming promotional sheen lending an impression of consultation and shared decision making ...
As the latest site says:
"Please join us in thinking about ways to make our communities more attractive and suited to our times."
... which just happens to involve several massive mixed-use Mori Building developments. But perhaps I'm being uncharitable. Rather this attempt at transparency and information dissemination about urban development than nothing at all.
Formally, the mini-sites/chapters themselves are essentially little more than wonderfully crafted presentations, but Mid-Tokyo Maps remains utterly beautiful, informative, fascinating sites none-the-less.
